The Food Services Division takes great pride in operating the nation's largest School Breakfast Program and the second largest National School Lunch Program. The Division serves approximately 650,000 nutritious and healthy student meals each day and its menus exceed USDA nutritional standards, which include meals with no added trans fat, reduced sodium, and whole grain. The Food Services Branch also boasts about their student driven menus. Last year, over 8,000 students participated in taste panels. Three out of four students must give a “thumbs up” to every food item that is added to the menu.
