Clerical

Employees working in clerical positions are found in almost all LAUSD functions and at all school sites.  In general, clerical employees perform some or all of the following duties and may be asked to perform some more technical duties depending on their specific job classification:

  • Maintain files and records
  • Enter data and prepare reports using computers
  • Prepare correspondence
  • Arrange schedules, schedule and prepare for meetings
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Respond to employee and public inquiries by telephone and in person
  • Assist in preparing employee time reports and payroll records
  • Perform routine bookkeeping
